A Space for Community to Thrive
The GardenThe Friends Community Garden is open every day and evening for everyone to enjoy. The gates are open, please come in and explore.
It is a traditional, walled and gated green space right in the centre of Emsworth town providing opportunities for community activities and events, surrounded by mature and new trees with traditional flower borders. The garden contains a brick built BBQ and a small pavilion with lots of chairs and tables for community use. We have embarked on a programme to upgrade and enhance the garden, and would like to thank our members for offering their time and effort in weeding and digging. The south west area of the garden now has a round wood pergola thanks to all the hard work of Vic Evershed. We have laid a patio in the north west corner which will aid summer BBQ’s. Celebrations |

We regularly host community celebrations and group events from the U3A summer BBQ to summer fetes, seasonal gatherings and some events in conjunction with the Southbourne Lions.
We offer the garden to local organisations for their own special events, such as Village Voices, the Brownies, the Baptist church and Right at Home have all held BBQ’s and other events. Groups and MeetingsFrom lunch time chats to outdoor team meetings. From regular children’s activities to singing or exercise groups.
We welcome any community group or local business to hold regular or one off meetings, groups and gatherings. DonationsAll donations from bookings are gratefully received and help towards the upkeep of the garden.
